Club Fat Ass - North Shore Enduro - Race Results

Cfanorthshoreenduro May 12, 2007 - North Vancouver, BC

Sunny skies and ideal trail conditions greated runners at this years 6-Hour Enduro. The 4th edition of the Enduro attracted 24 runners eager to start their 6 hour jaunt through the Lynn Loop. This 7.6km loop is a good mix of easy foot paths and rocky rooty trail. Randy Hunter's 2005 record of 8 laps in 5:39 looked to be in danger when Dom Repta and Matt Sessions put their game face on. However, once they saw a group of retired runners on the lawn enjoying the days sun, they decided 7 laps was plenty. Six other runners knocked off 6 laps including Jackson who chalked up his 87th ultra. Whether you ran 1 lap or 7, it was great to see a large group of runners come out and enjoy some exercise on a perfect day.

9 runners tackled one loop of 11.2km while 7 had the endurance to go up (and down) the loop twice to complete 22.4km.

It was great to see a slickly run event, with everything on time, good signage, plenty of marshals and food and water on the course. The event had a great down-to-earth local feel to it, which is refreshing compared to other popular events which just get too big and lose character. Thanks to you and your huge team of volunteers for a great day.

Yours Truly 50K and 25K Results

Jan 27, 2007 -- Maple Ridge, BC

The results are in for the Yours Truly 50K and 25K run ...

This year marked a first in the long history of this event. Despite the sunshine and warming conditions for the first time nobody managed to complete 50K. Due to deep crusty snow on all but the first few kilometres of the 25K loop most chose to head to the post-race event at the Black Sheep Pub after 25K. A few others went out for another lap of the 10K loop to get in a few more training miles. This was a day where "lighter was better" as some managed to stay on the crust (some of the time) while anyone over about 140 lbs was doomed to crash through ALL of the time. Most just found somebody to run with and toughed it out. With the great weather the views of the surrounding mountains were a sight to behold after our weeks of rain, snow and wind.
